ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
live your cor
Many people have asked us what Live Your Cor is. That is a very good question.
It all began at Cory's wake when Bree Conti showed up with stickers that said Live Your Cor. We placed one on Cory's lapel and we all put one on. Everyone asked," What does that mean?" That day it meant something different to everyone. To some it meant, go out and do all the things that Cory won't get to. To others it meant, live your life with the perpetual smile and boundless zest for life that Cory had. To others it meant treat everyone you meet with love and respect the way Cory did. A few months later Cory's friend Emma realized that Cor is heart in Latin and that Live Your Cor translates to Live Your Heart.
In the months after Cory's death, our neighbor Diana Mathews began to sell sweatshirts that said Live Your Cor to raise funds for the Cory Hubbard Memorial scholarship. The scholarship fund was already well funded due to the incredible generosity of our wonderful community. At that time we decided to create the Live Your Cor Foundation. Donna Lanzetta helped us to become a legal not for profit that is dedicated to helping families that are facing adversity.
The first summer without Cory, Shae Conti came into our yard wearing a Live Your Cor tank top, that she designed, with a sound wave pattern over the heart. That waveform was taken from an audio tape of Cory's belly laugh. That wave pattern has become the symbol of the Live Your Cor Foundation. It reminds us all to laugh. Exactly what Cory would want.
Through the sale of "Live Your Cor" merchandise and donations we have been able to donate over ten thousand dollars to friends and strangers who suffer adversity. It is a labor of love that helps us to pay forward the love and support we have received and to keep the memory and spirit of our beloved son Cory alive in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
